- Education department introduces quality initiatives to implement ALA
- The school education department has drafted a strategy to better implement the ongoing ‘Ananda Lahari Abhyasana’ (ALA)
- The initiative was scaled up to about 1,340 schools in Andhra Pradesh after it was inaugurated by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on a pilot basis in Chittoor district in 2017.
- Initially, 52 schools were identified as demo schools for training the master coaches, that is, one school from each educational division of the state. After training the master coaches in these resource schools, teachers — two from each of the 1,340 schools — were trained.
- As per the new quality initiative guidelines, ALA teachers will not be assigned invigilation, spot valuation or other duties.
- Under the ALA system, a special education kit is provided to students, which allows for individual progress on the learning ladder.
